Mahi Gold is a new brand for me this year. I stumbled onto it at one of the shows in New York and immediately knew I had to pick it up for the Spring.

Their tag line is "Born on the Beach. Made in the USA". Could it be any more perfect for Jane and Georgie?! All of the prints are nautically inspired and the silhouettes are all easy to wear. The dresses make me think of walks on the boardwalk, eating ice cream, picnics with the family. Its truly an American brand.

The Main Street dress is one of their core styles. It has an easy a-line style with 3/4 length sleeves which makes it an instant favorite. One of my favorite styles is the Docksider dress. Its a racerback style with a scalloped hem. It's definitely going to be a staple in my summer wardrobe! The Kate Dress is popular because of its empire waist with pleats. It has an a-line cut as well but tapers back in at the leg for a sophisticated look. The dress all the way to the right is the Seaview shift. The name says it all - a classic shift dress style. With the great price point (most dresses retail under $100) the only question won't be which one to add to your wardrobe but how many!!

Don't forgot to check back for the red, white and blue prints I have coming in June. Perfect for your 4th of July festivities!

Well I just finished placing my fall 2014 orders from February's Coterie. There was A LOT to see!! There are a lot of exciting trends that will be making their was into the shop later this year. Some of my favorites were of course the leather, fur, feathers and beading. All of the brands we carry really brought a lot to this show, and holding true to form Alice and Trixie was one of my favorites. They had some really great holiday pieces with leather & bead embellishments.

Milly also delivered with their use of feathers, fur and prints, & I was excited to see Sail to Sable branching out this year.  (Spoiler alert: Look for luxe leather- trimmed cashmere tunics - perfect to throw on with some leggings & boots!)

A lot of you have asked for footwear for fall, and I am excited to announce that I picked up Frye boots and bags. I admit I went a little nuts in their booth and when you see the pieces you will definitely know why! I absolutely cannot wait for the items to hit the store in July/August! Also look for another new brand, Coatology. They have puffer vests in an array of fun colors. Who doesn't love a good puffer?

Overall it was a great show and the trends this fall have me very excited. I have a love/ hate with shows where the quality is this great. I know everything will be amazing, but it is SO hard to keep my buys to a realistic level!

Gearing Up For Fall Coterie 2014

It's that time of year again! Time for me to head to New York City for the Fall buying trip, albeit well before the spring thaw is upon us here at the beach! This is always a trip that I look forward to because the fall is my favorite time of year. The weather is still warm, but the hustle & bustle of our busy season has come and gone.  As much as I look forward to September at the beach, I am always excited to see what the fall trends will be this year and what new gems I may find on my trip to the Big Apple....

That being said, I always find it challenging to buy for fall; the lines are all really large plus the merchandise won't be coming in until July at the earliest. Even with all of that at play, it's one of my favorite trips. I love looking at all the cozy sweaters, jackets, and seeing what the new trends will be. Plus I love love love the shrimp tempura at Sushi Damo!

For a preview of what's trending for Fall 2014, follow me @janeandgeorgie on twitter.  As often as I can I'll be tweeting pictures of potential fashions and would love your feedback!

See you in the city!

Love is in the air

Love is in the air......

I am feeling the love this year! First of all I just got married so that definitely puts me in the romantic mood for this Valentine's Day! But mostly I just love the holiday because its all about PINK!!

So here are some of my favorite Valentine's day treats.

Loving the whimsical Macaron boxes. I like to use them as gift boxes!

The Raw Edge Jacket by Milly is a show stopper! Beautifully made. Great layering piece as we head into Spring.

The Addie B top by Joie is a great way to add some color into your wardrobe. The fit is great and it looks nice under a suit jacket or on its own.

The Sandy skirt by Nicole Miller is a must have. It is made from cotton metal, fits like a glove and looks good on all shapes and sizes!

The Stained Glass Filigree earrings by La Vie Parisienne are stunning. I have several pairs of them and always get compliments when I wear them. They are perfect for this time of year when you feel dull and dreary. Pop them on with any outfit and you will feel yourself brighten up!!

Holiday Essentials

Here are a few of my personal holiday favorites. The Off the Shoulder dress by Nicole Miller is my new LBD. Its sleek and stylish, looks great on everyone and will never go out of style.

The scarab bracelet by Ben Amun is one of my new favorite pieces. Its a classic style thats simple enough to wear with anything yet adds a little "spice" to your outfit.

The Tatum metallic mini bag is awesome. Its light weight and just the right size to hold all your party essentials.

The Elizabeth Heels by Elaine Turner are a great alternative to basic black heels. I love the bamboo heel!

Last but not least, the Lace Filigree earrings by Kelley Pillman are my go-to earrings year round. They add a pop to any outfit and light up your face.

My new favorite leggings

I would like to think of myself as a legging connoisseur. Every winter I search for a legging that is comfortable, slimming, NOT sheer and overall flattering. Last year my favorite was by Susana Monaco. I still love their leggings but honestly was getting sick of constantly pulling them up all day long.
I recently stumbled onto the brand Lysse'. In one word, amazing!

The name comes from a twist on the french word for smooth. The idea was born from combining clothing and shape wear! Brilliant! Why didn't I think of it myself??!!

Still I was not sold until I tried them myself. They arrived at the store and I instantly fell in love. They are extremely comfortable but not only that, the 5" waistband, holds you in. No more muffin top! The double layer of control fabric smooths and slims (and the price isn't bad either). Needless to say these will be my new go-to leggings this winter!!

Fall is in the air....

The temperatures are finally dropping which makes me happy because Fall is one of my favorite times of year. I love everything about it. The leaves changing, fires in the fireplace, pumpkin spice lattes and of course cozy sweaters.
Some of my favorite sweaters this year are by Cortland Park. This is a new brand for us and it doesn’t disappoint. The brand was designed around the principle “Always classic, never basic”. The line is 100% cashmere and has such a timeless style with amazing pearl and tortoise embellishments.
